Delta Sound adds to distribution portfolio

UAE: Delta Sound has further expanded the number of manufacturers it represents in the region by becoming a dealer for Slate Media Technology. The production console manufacturer joins the likes of Merging Technologies, L-Acoustics and DiGiCo in the Delta portfolio.
The agreement followed a meeting at the Pro Light & Sound show in Frankfurt. ‘I saw the Raven desks at Frankfurt and I wanted one. I looked at it and I thought it was fantastic,’ explained Delta Sound Dubai MD, Andy Jackson. ‘For us to use them on site is so much easier, you’ve got to have a screen anyway, why not have one that does everything?’
Having explored the technology himself, Mr Jackson believes it will be a useful addition to the Delta Sound rental inventory as well as for postproduction companies in the region. ‘It has got Slate’s own bespoke software as well as batch control and all the preset commands. It’s just so much quicker,’ he enthused. ‘We have already sold the first few. I think people will look at them, see the benefits they can bring and want them in their studios.’
This announcement adds a further business line to Delta’s distribution portfolio, and Mr Jackson is keen to explore this line further. ‘I’m quite keen to push a bit more on the postproduction side because it is very interesting. There is certainly room for more things like this in the market out here. We will have a facility to do something if it is required.’
