MIDDLE EAST: DIS recently executed three DDS 5900 and CP 7851 seminars for the staff of exclusive Saudi Arabian distributor aDawliah Electronic Appliances.
The seminars were held at aDwaliah’s headquarters in Al-Khobar and in Jeddah, and attracted over 40 selected guests, including showroom managers, salesmen and technicians who were introduced to the new Digital Discussion System and the manufacturer’s Camera Control Package.
Product support engineer Steen Teglstrup lead a presentation on the user benefits of the DDS 5900, and discussed the ways discussion systems can be controlled using iPads.
‘The things the aDawliah staff learnt about the new features exceeded their expectations by far,’ said a DIS spokesperson.
In other news, DIS partner Teco recently placed its first order in Egypt for two DDS 5900 systems. Both are to be installed in the Airotel Hotel in Cairo. DIS reports that its analogue CDS 4000 discussion system ‘has sold pretty well in the Egypt over the last 20 years, so the expectations to sell the new digital system – which is even cheaper – are high,’ said the DIS spokesperson.
Lastly, Jordan-based Advanced Solutions (AVS) has announced it will provide three DDS 5900 digital discussion systems to the Landmark Hotel in Amman. The hotel is connected to a large conference centre including the ‘Royal Hall’.
Sami Jalil Janho, general manager of AVS stated that he is ‘very impressed with the features and the price/value ratio’ of the new digital discussion system, and commented that ‘after a short presentation it was easy to convince the technical staff at Landmark to purchase the system’.
‘I’ve spent three days in Amman recently so I could see with my own eyes what AVS is capable of,’ said Chris Hellmuth, area sales manager at DIS. ‘The A/V business is still a kind of niche market there, and with their long-time experience in conferencing, AVS is our first choice. Sami and his team are doing an incredible job and they can count on our full support.’
