UAE: Dubai Studio City will be hosting a number of advanced postproduction workshops at Cabsat from the 10-12 March 2015. Bringing certified Nabshow instructors to the region for the first time, the two-day training sessions will invite editors, producers, directors and new media specialists in production and post-production to learn a variety of skills including green-screen production and postproduction, how to be a better director, web video production strategies and creative editing tips.
‘Cabsat is an ideal platform for connecting the world’s leading content producers with businesses involved in exchanging, managing and distributing content, and provides the perfect platform to share industry knowledge and expertise,’ commented Jamal Al Sharif, managing director of Dubai Studio City. ‘Dubai is fast becoming the region’s hub for production and postproduction, and DSC has played a major role in this growth, providing cutting-edge infrastructure and facilities to companies from across the broadcasting and production value chain.
‘We are delighted to be presenting post-production workshops during Cabsat, which will harness skills, foster talent, and give media professionals and students the opportunity to access industry leaders as well as ignite new ideas and discussion,’ he contined. Dubai is an innovative hub that opens doors for talent, and we are committed to supporting the future generation of filmmakers as well as young talent, with whom we will continue to build upon the film and production industry in the Emirate.’
Dubai Studio City has also partnered with American University in Dubai (AUD) to offer three media students the opportunity to take part in the workshops. AUD have shortlisted candidates to take part, which will be presented with an internationally-recognised certificate at the end of the training.
‘DSC’s generous offer to connect three of Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) students with media professionals and give them access to the latest post-production technologies during Cabsat represents great collaboration between DSC and MBRSC, and is a great opportunity for our students,’ added Sophie Boutros, director of student affairs at the MBRSC.
