Eclipse covers Huawei launch event

UAE: Dubai-based events company Eclipse provided the audio, visual and lighting system for a launch event by Chinese telecom company Huawei at the Atlantis Hotel ballroom in Dubai. The event was organised and managed by Siren Events.

The audio setup for the main room consisted of four L-Acoustics 108P powered speakers, a Yamaha LS9 console, two Shure MX412 lectern mics, a pair of Sennheiser Series 2000 dual wireless receivers with handhelds and beltpacks, a BSS active DI box and a Clear-Com comms system.  A further two 108Ps were used for the press conference sound along with a further complement of Shure MX412 lectern mics, six Sennheiser 300s, a BSS FCS 960 graphic EQ and a Mackie CFX12 mixing console.

Guests entered the ballroom into the press area with a seamless plasma wall showing corporate videos and TV commercials which was surrounded by LED tunnel walls and ceiling created by Eclipse’s Martin LC 2140Plus transparent LED screen.

The projection system used a Christie HD8K projector with HD lens, Barco Folsom Image Pro HD, Kramer 1:8 DVI distribution amp and Denon Pro DVD player. On the lighting side a collection of fixtures from Martin, ETC and Selecon were controlled by an Avolites Pearl lighting console.

‘Working with eclipse was a pleasure because they always deliver over and above our expectations,’ said Fiona Swaffield from Siren Events.

Personnel from Eclipse included Richard Scott as technical event creative/showcaller, Duncan Shortt as lighting operator with Tim Ransom assisting, Zia Ullah and Edwin Roxas on sound, Rizwan Rashid as rigger and Dorai Arulswamy taking care of all video elements. Eclipse was supported by Rosey Cunningham, a freelance event manager working alongside Siren Events to manage the overall production process.
