Eclipse covers Yas Waterworld launch

UAE: Eclipse was contracted to provide the audio for the recent daytime launch of Yas Waterworld on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
The launch consisted of four separate areas. This included a themed entrance requiring 10 individual audio sources for a large themed souk area. To cover this area Eclipse used a Yamaha LS9 audio console and Quest MS801 speakers.
The company also setup an overall soundscape background for the ticketing area. This included recorded crowd noise, beach noise, seagulls and Arabic music. For this, the rental house turned to 108P powered L-Acoustics speakers. Each of these soundscapes was run off individual source machines.
Another major area tackled by Eclipse was the Flow Rider. This is one of Waterworld’s main attractions and was used during the launch for surfing demonstrations. To cover this zone, Eclipse opted for a K-Array system, Pioneer DJ mixers and CDJ’s with L-Acoustics speakers for general fill.
The inauguration event consisted of speeches, choreographed performances and the grand opening at the main pool area. To cover this critical area Eclipse opted for its L-Acoustic dV-Dosc system with 12XTs for fill across the front of the pool and beach area. A Yamaha LS9 32/16 console was used to run the show and Sennheiser mics of various varieties were used throughout the water park.
