UAE: Eclipse Staging Services has supplied lighting, video and secondary power distribution services to the annual Qasr Al Hosn Festival for the third year running. The cultural festival is set over an 80,000 sq-m site surrounding Qasr Al Hosn fort in Abu Dhabi and is a celebration of culture, history and heritage.
The lighting requirements of such a large site included over 3,500 lighting fixtures, in addition to 41km of lighting cable (including Soca, TRS and DMX), 600m of truss and 21 DMX universes. ‘Our objective with the lighting was to ensure that the site was as bright and attractively lit as possible without the over use of flood lighting or anything too harsh,’ explained Eclipse project manager, Tom Ralston.
In addition to the lighting, Eclipse also provided secondary power distribution to the entire site. A total of 26 generators equating to 7,140kVA were required, which supplied the site with power via 75 distribution boxes and over 26km of cable. In total, the power supply alone for the 11 day festival required 3,700 working man hours and over 200,000 litres of fuel.
