eclipse maintains commitment to future events professionals

UAE: Following a successful first two years for its Institute of Media and Communication (EMDI) technical seminars, eclipse Group recently hosted the 2017 edition. The course was held at the rental company’s warehouses over six days and drew in more than 70 EMDI students. The series of seminars forms part of eclipse’s ongoing commitment to up and coming events professionals in the region.

The lecture series aims to evolve year on year to reflect industry trends and developments, providing students with an understanding of the latest equipment. The seminars were hands-on with equipment demonstrations covering the basic theory, use and configurations for different systems. For each seminar, eclipse technicians rigged the warehouse to suit the topic explored using the latest equipment in its inventory.

Seminars included video, audio, rigging, power, lighting, special effects and lasers. Kicking off the series was a health and safety overview from eclipse’s in-house HSE manager, Manu Abraham.

‘As always, it was a pleasure to host the young professionals from EMDI,’ said eclipse general manager Martin Lubach. ‘The events industry is an expansive and daunting field to enter and I hope that this experience has given the students enough insight to the technical side that they can confidently advise their future clients in the possibilities of A/V.’
