UAE: Eclipse Staging Services was contracted by Chillout Productions as the supplier of lighting, video, camera’s and rigging for the 2013 Emirates Dubai Jazz Festival.
Nine event nights and two separate stages kept Eclipse busy with rehearsals and shows but the production company reports that everything went off ‘without a hitch’ and the whole event was a huge success. ‘Eclipse was very happy to be chosen in conjunction with Delta Sound to provide all the technical requirements for the 2013 event,’ said Eclipse general manager, Darren Hodge. ‘From all accounts the event was fantastic and we look forward to an ongoing relationship with Chillout Productions and the Emirates Dubai Jazz Festival’.
The two stages had their own separate rigs suitable to the size area and audience. The main stage lighting system included 65 Clay Paky spot and wash moving heads, 46 Martin Mac washes and strobes, a number of generics and follow spots. The system was changed for each of the four main nights to suit the specifications requested by the incoming lighting designers.
Video on the main stage consisted of an 80 sq-m Martin LC Plus screen (plus a 24 sq-m screen on the Jazz Garden stage) as well as two 30 sq-m 10mm Lighthouse screens for IMAG. There was also Eclipse’s Sony HXC HD Camera system to catch all the action live.
‘As a regular supplier to the major concerts held in the region, it was great that our reputation of reliability and professionalism helped us to be part of this exciting annual event,’ concluded Mr Hodge.
