Education City Mosque becomes a Hearing HotSpot

QATAR: Education City Mosque in Doha has been equipped with Williams Sound’s Hearing HotSpot. The system was purchased through the manufacturer’s Middle East distributor, Nicolas M Kyvernitis Electronics Enterprises (NMK), and installed by Doha-based Darwish Technology, marking the first major installation of the technology in the region.

The Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS) required a system that could transmit multiple channels of audio simultaneously from an interpretation system. Darwish Technology proposed Hearing HotSpot as a solution, which streams multiple channels of audio over Wi-Fi in real-time, instead of relying on conventional RF or IR. Once installed, users can access the interpreted channels via the Williams Sound Hearing Hotspot smartphone app.

‘Hearing HotSpot presented the exact full solution sought for this application,’ stated a spokesperson from the Darwish Technology team. ‘It’s a simple solution with straightforward application and compatible with most of the smartphones and tablets, which made it an adequate solution for our inquiry.’
