TURKEY: Istanbul-based distributor Elit light/sound technologies has highlighted the role its brands have played in the busy summer of live music in Turkey. L-Acoustics speakers and DiGiCo consoles have been in use for a number of prominent events.
First up was heavy metal band Blind Guardian who played Refresh the Venue. For the concert, local rental firm 911 Music supplied 12 L-Acoustics Kara speakers for the PA. The result was a sound system that reportedly pleased both the crew and the fans at the venue.
The next venue to call on L-Acoustics was the Party Tent for the 10th Efes Pilsen One Love Festival in Istanbul. Over two nights the venue played host to Oldies But Goldies and Novak 3D Disco as thousands of concert-goers continued to party after the main event. Production company Bros Technic provided the equipment for the venue and decided to use 18 L-Acoustics dV-Dosc cabinets, four 112P loudspeakers and six SB28 subwoofers.
Finally, legendary heavy metal group Judas Priest relied on DiGiCo for the Istanbul leg of their Epitaph farewell tour at Küçükçiftlik Park. Providing support were Whitesnake and Turkish bands Pentagram and Malt at this Purple Concerts-organised event. For this concert, 911 Music – which provided the sound and lighting production – selected DiGiCo SD8, SD7 and D5 consoles.
