ESE installs DIS at Bank Aljazeera

SAUDI ARABIA: DIS-Partner Electronic Special Equipment (ESE) has recently installed 13 of the Danish manufacturer’s DC 6990P touch screen units to a conference room at Bank Aljazeera in Jeddah. According to ESE’s senior system designer Mohamed Ghamrawi and project engineer Husam Mahfouz, the main reason for the customer to go for DIS was the voice activation feature (VOX) which allows microphones to be turned on or off without pressing a button.

According to the manufacturer, the DCS 6000 VOX algorithm can distinguish between a voice or a short noise such as a book being dropped, which means that a microphone reportedly only turns on when necessary. The various VOX parameters can be edited in the menu of the central control unit CU 6005 and a proper set up – which ESE has been trained to do – assures that this feature works correctly.

The meeting room system also caters for camera tracking when it is being used for video conferencing. However, this is being done without the need for the manufacturer’s SW 6000 software. To enable this, the RS-232 commands are sent directly from CU 6005 central control unit to the media control system.

A further feature of the project at Bank Aljazeera is the units include the bank’s logo and Arabic language functionality on the touch screen.

‘We are very happy to see DIS equipment used in this prestigious installation,’ said DIS area sales manager Chris Hellmuth. ‘ESE’s work highlights the capabilities of the DC 6990P system and the team there has done a great job.’
