Expanding Eclipse adds to team

UAE: Eclipse Staging Services is celebrating a successful season with expansion plans and new appointments in the company.
With a reported more than 50 per cent growth in turnover during the last year, much of which came from events and concerts outside the UAE, eclipse is now looking to expand into the broader Middle East region. Plans are already underway to move into both Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
The expansion plans see general manager Darren Hodge being promoted to the position of group chief operations officer. While still responsible for Dubai, Mr Hodge will also now play an active role in the company’s regional growth.
Group chairman and group chief executive officer Mark Brown has also added Simon Ransom to assist him with his expansion plans. Mr Ransom joins the company as group chief strategy officer with effect from the 1st July, 2012. He brings with him many years of experience with key roles in some of the region’s recent mega events including the Atlantis The Palm Jumeirah launch, the King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST) inauguration in Saudi Arabia and the successful inaugural Eye On Earth Summit which was held in Abu Dhabi in 2011.
As well as on the ground live event experience, in the mid-to-late 90’s Mr Ransom was general manager of one of the region’s largest audio visual rental companies. ‘I am more than happy to join Eclipse at this exciting time,’ said Mr Ransom. ‘With the current significant growth plans on the back of the company’s recent successes, I can only see things improving moving forward. Mark has always been one to take the bull by the horns and his current plans only continue that trend.’
‘I see the future as very bright and look forward to the day when Eclipse will be the number one supplier of quality and professional event technical resources across the Middle East,’ concluded Mr Brown.
