Front Of House adds MXL mics

UAE: Front Of House has added to its inventory with the purchase of four MXL 990 condenser microphones. The sale was made through the manufacturer’s local representative BM Audio Equipments.
‘I purchased the MXL 990 because I do quite a bit of studio work and also will be using them in my band (Point Of View) as we record our second album,’ said Front Of House technical director, Kiran Tauro. ‘In terms of live sound I would choose to use these microphones in events that do not really have a specified tech rider. This is the only way more engineers will come to know more about brands that are fairly new in this region.’
According to BM Audio’s Beata Mablad, MXL microphones have proven popular in the region due to their price point. And this is something Mr Tauro agrees with. ‘The advantages I found in this microphone are firstly the price point and secondly its very flat frequency response. It is very difficult to find microphones nowadays in this price especially with a frequency curve like the 990.’
