Gearhouse supplies audio for David Guetta

UAE: Gearhouse Staging Connections supplied and installed the audio for a recent David Guetta concert at the Yas Arena in Abu Dhabi. The promoter and producer for the performance was Flash Entertainment LLC, led by event operations director Lee Charteris and Flash production manager Haidar Shukri.

Completing the set-up in one day, Gearhouse supplied 32 L-Acoustics V-Dosc line source speakers for the main array hung 16 per side supported by 24 SB28 subwoofers. Twelve dV-Dosc boxes hung six per side were utilised for out-fills, whilst a further two stacks were utilised for front-fill. Additionally, a stack of dV-Dosc subwoofers and three dV-Dosc boxes were positioned either side of the DJ booth for David Guetta’s foldback.

L-Acoustics’ LA48 and LA8 amplifiers powered the entire system, and XTA Electronics’ 448, 226 and 442 systems handled all speaker management. Gearhouse’s FOH operator James Collee utilised a Yamaha PM5D desk, as did monitor operator Arif Mohammed.

‘This is our main PA that we stock and couldn’t be more suitable for the job at hand,’ said Shaun Donsen, project manager, Gearhouse Staging Connections. ‘The equipment was most definitely suitable because of the coverage we got, and it provided the clarity needed for something like this. Everything was configured to get an even spread across the venue, and gave the impact that was needed for a David Guetta concert,’ he asserted.

Mr Donsen said that the event ‘ran like clockwork,’ adding that ‘the system performed as we expected– fantastically! Also, the client was satisfied and the crowd also seemed to really enjoy it.’

Gearhouse also supplied the lighting, LED screens and cameras for the gig, for which Damien Jackson acted as lighting coordinator, with Alan Martin as video coordinator.
