Genelec goes discreet at EmSherif

UAE: The Dubai office of 21dB Acoustic Solutions was recently called upon to install a discreet sound system for EmSherif. To meet the brief, 21dB opted for a system combining hidden Genelec subwoofers and camouflaged speakers with processing from XTA.
The Lebanese restaurant is located at the bottom of The Address Downtown Dubai facing the Souk Al Bahar and Dubai Fountain Show. The space is covered by a zoned system of 14 Genelec 4040 speakers which have been painted to match the walls. Low end is catered for by six subs consisting of 7070 and 7060 models which have been hidden in waitress stations as well as in the floor.
‘The Genelec speakers are beautiful sounding and they needed to be discreet for the install. With the painting it has become even more discreet,’ said Ramy Estephan, Dubai Office representative for 21dB Acoustic Solutions. ‘With this kind of place, whenever the fountain is working, the music here is completely irrelevant because it’s overpowered by the music outside. This is not the kind of place that puts on loud music.’
The system has been zoned using a Cloud CX zoner and controlled via the XTA processor. Following the 10-day installation project, each zone can be independently controlled from the bar.
‘I’m happy with the end result and with how everything sounds,’ concluded Mr Estephan.
