GSL wins first GCC VTX sale

UAE: Showtech has become the first company in the GCC to purchase JBL’s new VTX system. The solution was bought through local Harman distributor GSL Professional which hosted a demonstration of VTX earlier in the year.

The company has been a long time user of JBL speakers, having previously been the first in the GCC to invest in the Vertec VT4889 system driven by Crown I-Tech HD 9000 with V5 presets as well as a wide range of other Harman products from GSL.

Showtech’s new system consists of 24 VTX V25 cabinets along with 16 VTX S28 cardioid-arrayable subwoofers. To run the VTX system, Showtech decided to use 32 Crown I-Tech HD 12000 amplifiers which is reportedly the best suited solution staying within the Harman brands. According to GSL, this is a ‘prestigious purchase from Showtech’, which brings ‘more attention to its overall inventory’ and ‘larger opportunities for upcoming concerts’.

Being the first VTX system sold in the Middle East, both GSL and Showtech have taken great pride in demonstrating the new technology introduced in to the system including the new D2 dual drivers found in the V25 cabinets. GSL believes that this system will bring ‘a new standard to the rental and touring market due to JBL’s constant advancement in technology and vision toward the future’.

‘We made this decision not only because of the performance of the products but also because of the ways in which the loudspeakers, amplifiers and other components are designed to work together,’ said Showtech’s HOD-sound Wasim Shaikh. ‘The purchase is also made based on the professional and reliable performance of our JBL Vertec VT4889 and VT4880 series and we look forward to using the new system at upcoming concerts and events.’

‘We share a relation of trust with GSL Professional and have been happy with JBL and Harman products over the years,’ added Showtech’s managing director Shaji George. ‘This made our decision much easier to go for the VTX due to the reliability of Harman products overall.’

‘This truly is a great sale for GSL Professional and will reflect highly for the Harman Pro brands in the Middle Eastern Market,’ concluded GSL sales manager Glen Kershaw.
