TURKEY: Harris Broadcast Communications has recently hosted its annual Middle East and South Asia (MESA) customer and dealer conference in Istanbul, Turkey. The two events were held over three consecutive days and saw the largest representation from both dealer companies and customers at a Harris event in the MESA region.
These events provided a platform to share regional information and experiences, evaluate market activity and trends while also enabling Harris to reveal its technological innovations to customers and dealers from across this geography. Dealers from Bahrain, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UAE were present at the event.
‘We have had a successful year in the MESA region and we were keen to share that success with our customers and dealers alike who have all made noteworthy contributions to that achievement,’ said Said Bacho, vice president, sales and service, Middle East and South Asia for Harris Broadcast Communications. ‘Our dealers have worked tirelessly on our behalf to ensure our products and solutions continue to be well-represented in their respective markets — and we were keen to ensure they had the tools in place to continue to do their good work.’
The manufacturer also used the dealer event to launch its ‘Harris Partner Program’ across MESA. This is intended to help solidify relationships and ensure the appropriate level of co-operation is achieved in relation to knowledge base, staff training and certification. Additionally, a newly designed portal was also introduced to provide cooperating entities with access to Harris product and pricing information.
The agenda included presentations from Harris executives on regional trends as well as technical discussions focused on areas of interest such as the integration of traffic systems into a file-based workflow; the integration of the Selenio media convergence platform offering into a contribution and video head end facility, as well as a session focused on the world of connected infrastructure.
Additionally Harris covered topics that identified customer requirements in the playout environment, and also looked at signal testing in a multi-network environment. Workshops focused on the integration of specific point products into the workflow including routers and multiviewers, servers, test and measurement solutions through to TV and radio transmission.
