IEWC brings Gepco fibre optics to EMEA

EMEA: Gepco International and IEWC have joined forces to bring the cable manufacturer’s full range of cable assemblies, panels, components and accessories to broadcast professionals in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Gepco fibre optics products have not been adapted from other industries but have been specifically designed and manufactured to meet the exacting demands of the audio broadcast market. According to the manufacturer, this makes them suitable for high-bandwidth data transmission in television, video production, staging, outdoor broadcast and professional audio applications.
‘Fibre optic systems are quickly becoming essential if we’re to keep pace with the bandwidth issues surrounding HDTV and 3DTV,’ said Jeff Peters, director of business development for Gepco. ‘Today’s fibre products can handle the high-bandwidth data, deliver the clarity of signal and are easy to route, durable under a wide range of conditions and easily repaired when there’s the inevitable problem.’
Working exclusively with Gepco, IEWC has committed its EMEA warehouses to fully stocking the entire Gepco fibre optic range, including the complete range of pro A/V broadcast cables.
‘Delivering quality wire and cable solutions on-time is something we take very seriously,’ said Graham Lay, EMEA audio broadcast market specialist at IEWC. ‘The urgency we feel to meet our delivery goals is based on IEWC’s philosophy. We understand the importance of having system components that are operational right now. A lost signal; a minute of a favourite TV show dropped; a winning goal that fans don’t see; they are not life and death… for broadcast professionals they’re much more important than that. We understand this attitude, it’s part of the industry’s makeup, so we go through hoops to get professionals what they need to keep broadcasting.’
