Il Divo use Adamson in Bahrain

BAHRAIN: Award winning quartet Il Divo recently headlined the eighth annual Spring of Culture series at Bahrain’s new National Theatre. The beautiful architecture and acoustics of the venue lent itself very well to the pop infused operatic technique of the quartet as they worked their way through their hits, backed by a full orchestra amplified through an Adamson PA system.

The system included eight stacked Y10s per side for the mains with six Metrix flown for the balcony outfills on each side. The low frequency was covered with three MTB front-back-front cardioid style flown at centre stage along with a T21 on the ground on each side. Four Metrix Wave 15° were used as lip-fills and were horizontally distributed along the front of stage, while 12 M Series M15s were used as stage monitors in a two-way-active configuration.

Because this was a prestigious event for the new venue, Adamson application engineer David Dohrmann was flown in to oversee the sound design. Mr Dohrmann used Adamson’s proprietary BluePrint software to ensure even coverage.

Maestro Sound and Lighting Company in Bahrain provided the sound for the event and along with the Adamson PA they included Lab Gruppen FP+-series for the amplification and used XTA 4-series for the processing. They supplied a DiGiCo SD8 for the FOH and a Yamaha PM5D RH for the monitor desk.

‘The system matched the seating of the venue very well and it was perfectly tuned by the Adamson tech support,’ noted front of house engineer David Lombardi.
