Indian Association Sharjah refreshes community hall

UAE: The Indian Association Sharjah has refitted the technology in its community hall. The new system includes an Allen & Heath GLD mixer and speakers from Nexo and RCF.
The venue was looking for a new system as increasing numbers of performers were requesting a change. The Association required a system with world class audio performance at an affordable rate.
The highlight of the system installed at the hall is Allen & Heath’s new GLD 80 digital mixer with an AR2412 mix rack. The Association has described the GLD 80 as ‘very cost effective and easy to use’. It was particularly keen to praise the analogue style interface, describing it as ‘another interesting factor’. Other important features for the association included its ability to record and playback a stereo signal on a USB memory stick and features such as input, output and insert soft patch bays, quick copy, paste and reset of mixes and parameters.
Away from the desk, the project has seen a combination of speakers from Nexo and RCF put to use. Two Nexo PS 15U speakers have been hung left and right of the stage with an RCF HD12-A as centre fill. A pair of Nexo RS.15 subs are stacked in the centre of the stage with the Association having plans to move them into the stage at a later date. Completing the install are three RCF HD12-A stage monitors. The equipment was all supplied by VV & Sons.
The installation took the engineering team from local systems integrator Avitco just three days to complete. The team was headed by Venugopal K while director of operations Sunil Kumar VS took a special interest in the project and closely monitored its execution.
The biggest challenge faced by the team came with the room acoustics. This was overcome by suitable speaker placement, although the existing structure did impose restrictions on this too.
The end result is a satisfied client which is now hoping for more performers to book the venue.
