ALGERIA: JIL FM, a channel from Algeria’s national broadcaster Radio Algérienne, has upgraded to the Radio-Assist 8.1 digital audio software suite. JIL FM is using the Netia’s new music scheduling module to automate playout of a blend of Algerian and international music.
By migrating to Radio-Assist 8.1, JIL FM gains functionality that includes Netia’s Activity Watcher, which simplifies tracking of changes made to playlists and the overall system.
‘Radio Algérienne has worked with Netia software for the past five years and has been very satisfied with Radio-Assist’s intuitive operation, efficiency, reliability, and rich functionality,’ said Mourad Ouadahi, director at Radio Algérienne. ‘When version 8.1 presented a new music scheduling tool, we took the opportunity to upgrade the system at JIL FM and completely automate broadcasts while maintaining our strategic mix of popular domestic and international music.’
The Netia support team worked with JIL FM to prepare the channel’s staff and audio database for the migration to version 8.1. The software enables balanced music scheduling that is consistent with the radio station’s strategy – 60 per cent Algerian music and 40 per cent international music, with a constant focus on new hits. Administrators at JIL FM also have begun using the Activity Watcher module to monitor all users and actions taken on the system.
