K1 comes to Turkey

TURKEY: Local distributor Elit Sound and Light Technologies has sold the first L-Acoustics K1 system into Turkey. The solution has been sold as the house system for Istanbul’s KüçükÇiftlik Park.
The decision by KüçükÇiftlik Park to purchase the system was part of an overall technical upgrade to make the venue more artist friendly. The 17,000 capacity 9,350 sq-m open-air venue in central Istanbul installed the K1 for its main stage.
The system has been put to use several times over the summer, starting with the MultiSound Festival. Artists to have put the new house system through its paces so far include Jessie J, Duran Duran, Tony Bennett, Pitbull and Stevie Wonder.
According to Elit, ‘the sound quality and the performance of the sound system have turned KüçükÇiftlik Park into a venue, which is technically, locationally, and also organisationally the most requested venue for grand events and concerts’. The K1 will continue to get good use in the coming months with acts including Scorpions, Enrique Iglesias and Steve Vai as well as festivals such as Urban Festival and Eksen On Fair scheduled to take place at the venue.
