UAE: Recently opened Dubai studio, Kingbros Media, has turned to Nicolas Kyvernitis Electronics Enterprises (NMK) to supply some of the facility’s core elements. The distributor has sold units from Mackie and Shure into the venue.
Kingbros Media, which offers recording, editing and photography studios as well as a projection theatre, has invested in a number of Shure microphones. These include a pair of SM58 LC microphones and a BLX188UK/CVL wireless mic.
The other aspect supplied by NMK is a range of Mackie gear. This includes one MCU Pro 8-channel control surface, an Onyx Blackjack 2x2 USB recording interface and a Big Knob studio command system. The monitoring side has seen the studio purchase MR5mk3 powered studio monitors and CR4 creative reference multimedia monitors.
The studio is owned by a team of professionals and local sound engineer Mahesh Chandran recommended the various products. ‘Kingbros Media’s purpose is to offer a new dimension within pre and postproduction in the city. As a professional sound engineer I am 100 per cent satisfied with the purchase and I have recommended Mackie products to other studios as well,’ said Mr Chandran. ‘Big Knob gives you total control of the studio and for me it represents one control system in a magic box.’
