L-S-B’s VSM takes control of SuperSport’s OB 1

SOUTH AFRICA: L-S-B’s Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) has been implemented as the overall control system in South African sports broadcaster SuperSport’s new HD-capable OB Van. The goal of the implementation was to reduce setup time and to make production workflows more flexible.
The truck, OB 1, can accommodate 24 cams, five QBall cams and two sprint cameras. VSM is the main routing and tally system with additional control over Axon cards and embedded output cards of a Snell Sirius router. Working on two redundant servers, the VSM system makes use of 25 VSM hardware panels to provide a virtualisation of signals aimed at simplifying the work for the operators. The van is mainly used for sport events and started being used for productions last year.
