Loud N Clear supports UN in Qatar

QATAR: Beirut-based production company, Loud N Clear, was called in to support the audio for the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held recently in Doha. GAT Middle East was contracted to handle the whole event and it enlisted Loud N Clear for the audio needs.

The congress took place over 13 auditoriums and meeting spaces using systems from Meyer Sound and L-Acoustics with DiGiCo control and Shure and Sennheiser mic packages. To cover this portion of the event, Loud N Clear enlisted 35 certified engineers.

The main challenge for Loud N Clear came from the two nights of dinner and entertainment which it also needed to cover. The first night saw a performance from Lebanese dancer and choreographer Alissar Caracalla while the second was a concert by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.

‘That was the main challenge for us because Qatar Philharmonic had more than 91 musicians on the stage,’ recalled Loud N Clear’s Roger Bou Farhat. ‘Because of this, we decided to ship all the equipment for the performances from Beirut to Doha.’

The system put to use for the events saw L-R hangs of six Martin Audio W8LC with two W8LD per side. Outfill was via 16 W8LMs and there was a further eight F15 cabinets for sidefill. Low end was via eight S218 subs and 12 LE400s were used as monitors. Power for the system was courtesy of Lab.gruppen FP10000Q amplifiers while processing came from XTA DP448 units.

The control package saw Loud N Clear use a Midas Pro9 desk for front of house. Monitors was served by a DiGiCo SD10 with a pair of SD Racks.

Microphones formed a large portion of the equipment list. Neumann KM148 and AKG 414 units were called into action, but the bulk of the inventory was from DPA. Loud N Clear supplied more than 70 of the manufacturer’s 4099 instrument mics. V, C, B, and S models of the mic were all in use for various instruments as well as the manufacturer’s 4011A condenser mic.

‘It was a huge event for us with VIPs coming from all around the world. We received huge appreciation from the United Nations for our work,’ concluded Mr Bou Farhat.
