MediaCast supplies Solfage Studio

OMAN: Muscat-based production facility Solfage Studio has been equipped with a collection of Avid and Universal Audio products through Dubai-based distributor MediaCast. The studio is part of the Al-Quds Media Group, a major local multimedia company owned by Omani producer- Nasser Al Roqaishi.
MediaCast was contacted by Ahmed Al Musawi, the owner of Seven Sound production and a composer and audio engineer who is also a former keyboard player for the Majan Band. Being one of the first Pro Tools users in Oman and building six local commercial studios based on the software, once again he decided to choose Avid products.
Mr Al Musawi purchased Avid HD native for the studio in order to use the new interfaces and make the workflow more stable and faster especially with Pro Tools 10. ‘Now I can focus on my productions and music making without any worries about latency issues or final sound output quality,’ he stated. ‘These interfaces sound really great, it has an open sound and punch, and on top of that it’s stable!’
Also important for Mr Al Musawi was to mix with faders rather than a mouse and keyboard. Therefore, the Avid Artist series was recommended. ‘I am very satisfied with them and they are very stable and affordable. I can do a lot more than what I actually thought,’ said Mr Al Musawi.
Following the move from an analogue studio to opening his own venture, Mr Al Musawi had felt there was something lacking in his mixes. This feeling has been removed with the addition of the UAD-2 plugins. ‘Now I can get that sound that I was missing in my tracks, and I can do it without any headache of dealing with cables and the analogue noise,’ he enthused. ‘I also bought a pair of Universal Audio channel strips for my input signal so I can get the tube sound from it and compress my input single a bit.’
