Merging appoints PenMac for South Africa

SOUTH AFRICA: Merging Technologies has appointed PenMac as its distributor for South Africa, with the manufacturer describing its new partner as possessing ‘particular expertise in live events and A/V installations’.
The deal – reportedly sealed following February’s ISE exhibition in Amsterdam – sees Merging join PenMac partner brands including Blackmagic Design, Dataton, Medialon and more. The distributor was previously well known to Merging because of Ovation sales made with Dataton’s WatchOut multi-display system. Led by Malcolm Finlay, the company is based near Johannesburg but has worked on both a national and international basis since its founding in 1988.
‘We started with Ovation without really understanding what else Merging could offer,’ explained Mr Finlay. ‘Now we know and we feel confident we can significantly expand the user base for Merging in South Africa. They have some great products at a variety of price points that appeal to our client base.’
