LEBANON: Mourad ‘Momo’ Mazouz has opened a new Moroccan themed restaurant in Beirut with QSC AcousticDesign AD-S52 surface mount loudspeakers providing the coverage. The speakers were supplied by the manufacturer’s local distributor Technosound which was contacted by Lebanese construction company Solidere.
The 300-capacity venue is located above the jewellery souks in the centre of the city and features an indoor space as well as an extended terrace area. This terrace has a capacity of more than 200 seats and is covered by 22 of the AD-S52 speakers powered by four QSC PLX2502 amps. The weather resistant speakers incorporate a 5.25-inch LF transducer and a 1-inch neodymium tweeter. Feeding the speakers is a DJ setup or an iPod which is used for BGM. An additional PLX3602 powers the restaurant sound.
The aesthetic was an important consideration for the installation. Mixing vintage furniture, designer pieces and made to measure fixtures in the shell of a hanging garden, Mr Mazouz – assisted by Annabel Karim Kassar and Violaine Jantet – said he has created a ‘paradise of curiosity’.
According to Technosound director of sales and marketing, Pierre Fahed, the client is said to be delighted with the transparency and quality of the new fit-out.
