Montarbo sound for dancing fountain

AZERBAIJAN: Montarbo has played its part in the ongoing urban regeneration of Baku with the installation of a PalcoPlus line array solution in one of the city’s squares. The audio system is part of a synchronised sound, light and water display at a dancing fountain outside İçərişəhər station.
The installation covers a 50m-wide triangle. The fountain stands at the centre of the square, and a twisting glass and steel structure rises to a height of 36m. According to the manufacturer, which also acted as the installer for the project, the main problems were the lack of protection from the weather and the noise created by the falling water. At its peak, the water height falls 30m and produces a sound comparable to equatorial showers during the dancing play which the music had to overcome.
To meet these challenges, Montarbo installed three PalcoPlus arrays each consisting of a pair of RA18XC bass units and four RA16C line array elements. These speakers have been designed to be weather resistant and implemented in outdoor projects. Power for the system is via six 4-channel PLM6800 amplifiers.
