Natalie Cole relies on Venue

UAE: An Avid Venue Profile was the console of choice for the recent Natalie Cole concert at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The desk was requested by renowned engineer and Avid endorsee Howard Lindeman and supplied by Delta Sound.
Mr Lindeman describes the Venue Profile as making it ‘easy to sound great’ and that it provides him with a ‘blank canvas where I can colour my sound’. He also claims that Avid is now his ‘breakfast lunch and dinner!’ Coming from a studio background at the Hit Factory, Mr Lindeman explained that the Venue consoles made the transition to live seamless by utilising the vintage plugins and virtual sound check functions.
For the concert, the Venue Profile was integrated with a Pro Tools HDX I/O system. This allowed the whole show to be multi-track recorded in Pro Tools. According to Simon Short from Dubai-based Avid distributor MediaCast, ‘this set up is becoming more and more popular as the ease and quality of recording a live show is incredible’.
