New CEO for Philips Entertainment

WORLD: Philips Entertainment has announced that Steve Carson is stepping down as the chief executive officer of Philips Entertainment. Taking his place as CEO is Matthijs Glastra.
Mr Carson will remain with Philips Entertainment for the remainder of 2012 to ensure a smooth transition, after which he will retire from the industry that he has worked in for over 28 years.
‘I have sincerely enjoyed my time leading Philips Entertainment,’ said Mr Carson. ‘Over the years we have introduced ground-breaking products, lead technology revolutions, and have built many lasting relationships. While I did not make this decision lightly, I am excited about the next chapter in my life and look forward to spending valuable time with my family and friends.’
Mr Glastra has accumulated over 18 years in the LED, entertainment lighting and semiconductor industries, and his most recent position prior to this was as chief operating officer at Philips Lumileds, where he was responsible for technology innovation, product creation and operations. He has also enjoyed positions in marketing, sales, operations, and as general manager of multiple businesses.
