New dates for Cairo MET

EGYPT: Following its postponement earlier this year, Cairo MET has now been rescheduled to take place from 25th to 28th May at the Cairo International Conference Centre. The tradeshow which targets the Middle East and Africa markets was scheduled for February but was postponed as the January 25th revolution erupted in Egypt.
It is the second time the Media and Entertainment Trends Fair and Forum has been held alongside the city’s more established ICT show. Cairo MET covers the entire scope of media and entertainment such as sound and light systems, audio-visual solutions as well as satellite and broadcasting technologies.
Egypt is currently reshaping itself and the organisers of Cairo MET see an opportunity that will boost both the media and entertainment industries in the country. The show is described by its organisers as ‘a unique blend of exhibitors and audience, covering a vast but logical span of media, movie-makers, and show biz professionals’.
The four-day event will see a number of forums, seminars and training sessions. These include sessions on character rigging and plug in development in the production pipeline, matte painting and digital art direction, lighting techniques in animated features, linear workflow and pass rendering in Maya, ZBrush and digital sculpting, 3-D conversion and several others. There will also be an open air concert for Revolution bands and artists to display the latest sound and lighting techniques.
