New hires for Eclipse

UAE: Dubai-based production company, Eclipse Staging Services, has announced two new hires including Martin Lubach, who has been appointed as the company’s new general manager.
With 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Mr Lubach worked for two years as commercial director at PRG UK. From 2011 to 2013 he took an active role in contributing to the company’s growth strategy through proactive sales, management and leadership of the specialist sales team.
Starting his career in 1984 as an engineer, product developer and draughtsman, Mr Lubach worked within a team designing the first European automated lighting system – the Starlite. Following that role, he went on to tour for several years as the lead programmer and board op for bands such as Bon Jovi, Sting and New Order. Between 1993 and 1997, he helped develop and oversee the manufacturing of the Starlite MK5 console and lighting fixture.
After joining Essential Lighting in 1998, due to his technical capabilities, he helped the business grow very quickly and became technical director and shareholder; working on any technically demanding jobs but also on warehouse procedures to create a more efficient machine. After the acquisition by PRG in 2009, Mr Lubach went on to become managing director of Essential Lighting, successfully overseeing the organisation merger through a difficult recession.
‘I’m relishing the challenge of working in Dubai,’ stated the new general manager. ‘I will be looking to streamline and develop the entire team to further support Eclipse’s growth; working alongside the rest of the management team and taking the company forward into the next stage of its evolution.’
‘I first worked with Martin whilst he was at Starlite, in the 1990s, developing the award winning Starlaser which toured with Elton John and Deep Purple, and I subsequently owned the company Starlite Systems Technology for a brief period,’ added Eclipse Group CEO, Mark Brown. ‘Martin has the unique combination of technical and commercial background and has been working in a senior position for one of the largest companies in our industry. Eclipse needed a more structured approach in its management, and Martin can help develop this, working in tandem with Simon Ransom who brings regional experience to the mix.’
In further news, Eclipse has added Georgina Rawlings to its team as group marketing and communications manager. Ms Rawlings joins from Informa Exhibitions where she served as marketing manager for Dubai’s annual Palme show.
