New sound and light for Dubai Aquarium

UAE: The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo has recently been equipped with a new sound system based on products from Audac and Samson as well as new lighting effects from American DJ.  The equipment for the project was supplied by Echo Beats in what has become a high-profile project for the Dubai-based distributor.

The aquarium required a multi-zone system that would allow visitors to learn about the creatures on display in the four zones without disturbing the animals or the staff swimming in the tanks with them. However, the main challenge for the project was controlling the sound in the highly reflective glass-filled space.

To achieve this, Echo Beats supplied a solution that could control the sound in the small zones without leaking into other areas. The distributor supplied 10 Audac Ateo4 and six Ateo6 wall speakers to be installed over the various zones. Power for the system comes from a pair of the manufacturer’s CPA12 amplifiers in conjunction with four CPA24 units. Four of the Belgian company’s PRE24 two zone stereo amplifiers have been put to use for the Samson wireless microphones used by staff from within the enclosures.

Echo Beats has also been involved in the lighting side of the project. This has seen 15 American DJ H2o LEDs put to use for lighting effects, while the manufacturer’s DDR 8 PRO units have also been installed.

The project was commissioned over a three day period with Echo Beats providing supervision for the engineering, fixing and testing. According to the distributor, the whole team at The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is very happy with the installed solution.
