Omnix Promedia named PeopleLink distributor

UAE: Omnix Promedia has been named as PeopleLink’s exclusive distributor for the UAE and Qatar. The company is looking to increase its focus on its distribution business and take products to market through resellers.
‘We considered PeopleLink over the last six months before we made a decision,’ said Omnix Promedia general manager Fadi Mina. ‘It is a complete videoconferencing solution. It provides high-quality video and audio at a low bandwidth. This low bandwidth and the affordable cost are the things we really like about this product. We noticed after doing some POCs for some clients that it is a solution that will make a breakthrough in the market in terms of video conferencing.’
Mr Mina is confident the system will do well in the region, but Omnix only wanted to take it on in territories where it had a strong presence. ‘They have a presence in Saudi Arabia, but we took the exclusive distribution for UAE and for Qatar. We chose these markets because this is where we have a strong presence as Promedia. We have teams on the ground in the UAE and Qatar and we know that we can play a professional role as a distributor,’ he explained.
‘We don’t want to go to market and compete with our systems integrators. We will help them, but we are the distributors,’ continued Mr Mina. ‘We already have the relationships with the end-users and the main clients so what we have to do is present the solution and put it to them for a week long demo, show them a proof of concept, and if they like it then refer them to one of the resellers.’
