Onelan installed at Qatar’s DPS Modern Indian School

QATAR: A Onelan digital signage system has been installed at the DPS Modern Indian School in Qatar. The school wanted to implement the solution to help it present a modern image and differentiate itself from other schools. Onelan was selected for its ability to stream live video in addition to its API to trigger feature. Additionally, support was on-hand in the form of local experienced integrator Moseco.

Each classroom is equipped with a projector or large screen that can be switched from laptop to a Onelan Net-Top-box (NTB). This can be scheduled or triggered centrally through the API. A total of 220 NTB-650s are installed across the school, with video content encoded via an OMNI-A and streamed to each. This is used daily to welcome all students with the NTBs triggered centrally using the API to pick up the ‘welcome message’ stream.

Signage is also used as a tool to communicate with all students or a particular class to inform them of relevant information, for example, sick leave of teachers or special events. The system is managed locally by the school, with both IT and the staff responsible for content working closely with the principal.
