Pier7 installs Funktion One

LEBANON: Beirut’s Pier 7 has become the latest club in the Middle East to be equipped with a system from Funktion One. The project was handled by local systems integrator Audiotec Group.

Pier7’s new system is based around six Resolution 3 and four Resolution 2 cabinets. Added to this are six F1201 and six F101 speakers. Low end is taken care of by four BR221 and a further four BR218 subs. Power for the system is courtesy of three F100-2 amps plus a pair of F60Q and three further F40Q amplifiers. The install also features three X04A crossovers.

‘There were absolutely no challenges at all, everything worked as planned,’ noted Audiotec Group managing partner Ralph Choueiri. ‘We had taken the right time and exact studies in order to minimise any surprises during installation, and our efforts paid off. It went in flawlessly.’

Audiotec came into the project three months before the venue was due to open for the summer. ‘We went through the design of the system, manufacturing, shipping, and installation, all in under three months,’ recalled Mr Choueiri. ‘It all went very fast with a lot of late nights. It was mandatory in order to make it on time.’

With the venue open, and the system up and working, Mr Choueiri has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the response. ‘We had people from all the audio industry calling us to come and listen to the new system,’ he stated. ‘The news about the new sound at Pier7 was everywhere, in a very short time.

‘We were very thankful to have been part of such an amazing experience,’ concluded Mr Choueiri. ‘Tony Andrews and Ann Andrews from Funktion One were present during the last week of install and on the opening day, which was a complete success.’
