PRG Gearhouse supplies Sensation

UAE: PRG Gearhouse was called into action to supply the recent Sensation dance event at Dubai’s Meydan race course. The rental house put to use its extensive L-Acoustics inventory to cover the audio side of the event.
The Dubai event was the first time Sensation had been held outdoors and the requirement for PRG Gearhouse was to provide a constant 104dB across the entire audience. Adding to this challenge was the orientation of the event with a wide stage directly facing the Meydan grandstand. The rental house needed to configure the system to avoid reflections from the vast glass-fronted area running the length of the arena directly behind FOH.
The width of the area which needed to be covered required a system design with three hangs per side. The first two of these hangs consisted of 58 L-Acoustics V-Dosc cabinets, while the final hang put to use 32 K2 speakers. Down fill, front fill and in fill was catered for by 36 dV-Dosc and low end required 56 SB28 subs. The main system was powered with LA8 and LA48 amplifiers and managed by XTA, while overall control was handled by Lake LM44 processors.
The all-important DJ booth was covered by six L-Acoustics Kara and four dV-Subs for monitoring. And the rental house supplied eight Pioneer CDJ2000 Nexus players and a pair of DJM900 Nexus mixers to meet the DJ’s requirements. Monitors for the performers on stage included 16 Sennheiser G3 IEM systems for the dancers along with four L-Acoustics 115xt HiQ floor monitors.
