Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd University goes with Televic

SAUDI ARABIA: Energy Projects Support Company (Enpro) has installed a Televic Confidea wireless conferencing system at the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd University in Dammam.

‘We sold a Confidea wireless solution for 23 seats including the chairman,’ said Enpro director of IT and communications solutions, Ashraf Hamdam.

This was a high-profile project at the university as the conference room is typically used by its Dean and President. For Mr Hamdam it was the quality of the product that made it the right fit for this installation. ‘We searched the market for something you could put in the conference rooms and found that this equipment was the right solution.’

The project itself lasted for almost five months due to the volume of integration needed. There was also furniture enhancement required to include the audiovisual equipment. ‘It was a very big project for us. We integrated the conferencing system with the IP network and the 103-inch plasma screen which also has IP configuration and control,’ said Mr Hamdam. ‘We are very happy to have worked on this project and pleased with the end result.’

Following this deal, Enpro is hoping to work on more projects at the university. ‘PMU is now enhancing all its audiovisual equipment, and this project has shown our ability to integrate between all types of equipment.’
