UAE: Messe Frankfurt GmbH has acquired the Palme Middle East show from Informa and rebranded it as Pro Light & Sound Middle East. Along with the rebranding, the show now also has new dates, shifting from its traditional position in May to the end of October.

‘With the region becoming a major destination for high profile events, and set to host large-scale international gatherings such as the Dubai Expo 2020 and the FIFA World Cup 2022, demand for leading-edge technology and high-quality sound and light products is on the increase from event organisers, retail chains and venue operators,’ said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East. ‘We have brought Pro Light & Sound to Dubai in order to bring leading international suppliers in touch with a wide range of prospective clients from across the region.’

Messe Frankfurt is no stranger to the region, having successfully organised a variety of shows in the likes of Turkey, South Africa, Kenya and the UAE. Equally, it has grown a portfolio of international events for the Pro Light & Sound brand, with outings in Russia and a pair in China joining its Frankfurt staple.

‘As an addition to the successful international Pro Light & Sound brand, the trade show will provide a platform that mirrors this impressive growth trend,’ said Stephan Kurzawski, senior vice president, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.

The first edition of Pro Light & Sound Middle East is set to be co-located with fellow Messe Frankfurt event, Light Middle East. As such, it will follow hard on the heels of Pro Light & Sound Shanghai taking place between October 31st and November 2nd 2016 in Hall 1 of the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
