Prosound equips Supersport with ETC solution

NIGERIA: Prosound recently supplied and installed an ETC lighting solution into the Supersport television studio in Lagos, Nigeria.
In a project that took eight weeks to complete from the initial ordering process through to the final installation, Prosound equipped the studio with ETC solutions comprising 96 channels of Sensor dimming systems. This included an Element lighting console and a SmartFade ML desk. A total of 48 ETC Parnel fixtures were also provided together with two Source Four 10 degree Followspots .
When the client approached Prosound, it was able to send one of its engineers on site within a day as a team happened to be working on a project in the same region.
‘ETC products are industry standard in both theatre and television and the equipment is extremely stable,’ said Prosound’s Ian Blair. ‘We employed Thomas Peters who is a freelance ETC service technician to project manage the contract, and his involvement was terrific.’
Mr Blair admits that the main challenge was a short time frame: ‘The gear had to be ordered from the US and the UK, where it was then delivered to Prosound where it was prepped. All cables were made locally and the entire order was then ready for delivery to the studio in Lagos,’ he explained.
‘The client is very happy, and the reaction so far has been very positive,’ he concluded.
