Prosound unveils new Maestro speakers

SOUTH AFRICA: Prosound used its technical sponsorship of the Michael House Music Festival as the launchpad for its new Maestro 15-inch and 12-inch coaxial speakers. Prosound director, Terry Acres, has a longstanding relationship with Michael House School and has overseen the development of its various performance venues.

The inaugural music festival saw over 500 musicians, singers and conductors converge on the school grounds for a celebration of music; through massed choirs, jazz performance and steel drum bands to full orchestral concerts. Creative director of the event and world-renowned conductor, Richard Cock, led a programme of Hollywood hits, together with the Kwa-Zulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, Michael House Chapel Choir and Chanticleer Singers, as well as Schubert Mass in G, which saw the KZN Midlands Youth Choir join the ensemble of singers and musicians.

Sound reinforcement for the events saw the launch of Maestro’s GS-151CP 15-inch and GS-121CP 12-inch coaxial loudspeakers. The cabinets were used to support performers in the school’s cavernous Indoor Centre. A full setup of Audio-Technica microphones allowed for the management of individual instrument pick-up as well grouped choirs.
