Protec and Delta deliver Nad Al Sheba ceremony

UAE: Delta Sound and Production Technology (Protec) supplied the equipment for the opening ceremony of the recent Nad Al Sheba Ramadan Tournament. The ceremony was produced by Dubai-based production agency, HQ Creative.

The ceremony itself saw a variety of extreme sports displays from cyclists, skaters and wheelchair users on ramps set up in the venue. Protec was called in by HQ Creative for the video and lighting equipment, while Delta handled the audio requirements.

The audio side of the ceremony called on equipment from L-Acoustics, DiGiCo, Sennheiser and Clear-Com. With Craig Harvey as project manager, the rental house supplied an L-Acoustics Kara system mixed on a DiGiCo SD11. A comprehensive Sennheiser wireless mic package was put to use for the ceremony alongside a pair of Shure 412 gooseneck mics. Completing the setup, a Clear-Com Tempest solution was used for comms.

The ceremony kicked off three weeks of competitive international sports including various cycling, running, shooting, foosball and volleyball events during Ramadan. Delta equipment was used to cover the main venue, the start-finish line as well as some of the outdoor events.
