QATAR: Qatar Vision Production Company (Qvision) recently produced the Qatar Football Association Award Ceremony which was held in Doha’s Aspire Dome. The design of the show was conceived and created by Qvision less than a month prior to the event.
‘We received a call from Qatar Stars League Organization three weeks before the event, and we had to come up with the most creative show that can be produced in a completely empty space,’ said Sharif Hashisho, managing director of Qvision and the show director. ‘We spent four days on the creation of a 3D simulation in our creative department and presented to the client for approval. The client immediately approved the project and we had one week for the actual production,’ he continued.
Mr Hashisho puts the success of the event down to the level of staff and equipment the company has. ‘In three days we managed to have the full venue ready for rehearsals and all elements were absolutely ready for the show.’
Qvision transformed Aspire Dome into a Red Carpet entry catwalk, a cocktail reception area, and a main show area. The main show area contained a 360-degree simultaneous projection, highlighting all the images and visual content captured during the season. The installation combined 12 Christie 20K and two Christie 16K, controlled by 20 Dataton Watchout computers.
From an audio perspective, Qvision turned to Meyer Sound. The production company used the manufacturer’s Milo speakers, M2Ds, M2D Subs, Melodies, UPJs, and UPMs. These were put to work in both the cocktail reception area and the main show area.
On the lighting side, 150 Clay Paky Stage Zoom moving lights, Stage Color washes, Alpha 700 and Alpha 300 beams were used on the show. For broadcast purposes, a set of 150 conventional lights from Desisty and a Spot Light complimented the installation. An additional 48 Martin Stage bars and Pulsar Chroma Strips LED lights were used for illuminating the decoration. The rigging was based on the S52 trusses and motors from Prolyte.
His Excellenacy sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleefah Al-Thani, vice chairman of Qatar 2022 Committee and the president of Qatar Football Association honoured various sports personalities, heads of the local football clubs, the best football player during the season and the highest goal scorer at the glittering ceremony attended by QOC secretary-general Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and a host of other football dignitaries.
