QATAR: Qvision has recently completed the technical production of the entire A/V equipment overlay, Fan Zone and Closing ceremony for The Al Kass international football Cup U-17 Tournament.

The scope for the project included equipping the football stadia with audio equipment for announcements, music playback and commendation. In addition the installation of a pair of LED screens to be used for the live broadcast and as score boards during the event. Qvision has also developed the software for the scoreboard.

Further to this, the company handled the full implementation of the press conference area and media centre. This included the installation of the infrastructure, furniture fit outs and all technical audio, lighting and rigging equipment. As well as this there was the full production and implementation of the Fan Zone area, including event management for all the activities and entertainments at the fan zone and the full production and implementation of the Closing Ceremony and Victory Ceremony.

For the media centre, QVision opted for a Meyer Sound setup with 12 UPM-1P cabinets and a Midas Venice console. A pair of XTA CQ600s were in use for EQ while the mic package was from Shure. The translation system was an important component of the setup for this area, and for this QVision turned to Taiden. The HCS-4100MA/00 was the conference main unit while HCS-4385 and HCS-4216/10 interpretation units were also in play.

In the Fan Zone another Meyer Sound setup was in play, this time controlled from a DiGiCo SD8 console. The system included six 700-HPs, 12 Milo 120s, eight M2Ds, 16 M2D Subs, as well as CQ-1, CQ-2, UPM-1P and UM-100P cabinets. Processing was handled by the manufacturer’s Gallileo unit.

For the stadia, QVision supplied 36 RCF Art 522-A active two-way speakers plus two XTA CQ600 dual 30-band graphic equalisers and a pair of XTA DP226s for the speaker management system.
