TURKEY: Ankara-based Radio City 99.3FM has installed an AEQ Forum console as part of the migration to digital for one of its studios. The desk was reportedly chosen due to its technology and simplicity as well as the potential for fast and easy installation.

The chosen configuration consists of a 12 fader control surface, six microphone inputs, eight analogue I/O, eight digital I/O and two digital built-in telephone hybrids. According to the manufacturer, this setup for the mixer allowed ‘ease of operation from the most basic to the most advanced Radio City requirements’.

The project was managed and executed through AEQ’s local partner in Turkey IdeaPro. The installation was led by IdeaPro general manager Ihsan Atak in coordination with AEQ’s technical services in Madrid. The Spanish technical team were able to remotely supervise and modify the configuration through internet without the need to travel to the installation could. The manufacturer describes this as ‘a big innovation in this kind of high-level technologic projects’.

Radio City FM is a private radio station with a presence in Istanbul and Ankara covering almost 18 million potential listeners. It also has a strong internet broadcasting presence which the new Forum console will also help with. The broadcaster aims to reach the general Turkish language audience and features a strong presence of modern national and international music and telephone participation with its listeners.
