Red Army Choir calls for Loud N Clear

LEBANON: Beirut-based rental company, Loud N Clear, was recently called into action to meet the audio needs of the Red Army Choir. The concert for 5,000 people took place at the Beirut Waterfront.
The rental house supplied its regular Martin Audio setup for the concert. Eight per side W8LC with two W8LCD formed the main LR hangs in addition to a centre hang of six W8LM. Low end was catered for by 12 of the manufacturer’s S218 subs. The rig was powered by Lab.gruppen F10000Q amplifiers and controlled by XTA DP448 processors.
Stage monitoring was courtesy of 14 Martin Audio LE400C wedges and side fill came via six of the manufacturer’s F15 cabinets. The choir’s French engineer specifically requested Midas consoles for the performance, so Loud N Clear supplied a Pro9 for front of house and a Pro2 for monitors.
With 30 musicians, the 40-strong choir and eight solo singers taking part in the performance, the mic package was critical. For this the rental house supplied a variety of models from several manufacturers. Neumann KM184, Sennheiser MD421 and MD541, AKG 535 and C414, and DPA 4099 and d:fine headsets were all put to use alongside Shure UR4D+ for wireless.
