Scott Leslie appointed as JBLs director of engineering

WORLD: JBL Professional has announced the appointment of Scott Leslie to the role of director of engineering. The position will see Mr Leslie report to JBL Professional’s vice president and general manager Mark Ureda, who described Mr Leslie as capable of ‘taking JBL to the next level of high performance loudspeaker technologies and designs.’
Mr Leslie, who holds an MSEE degree in Acoustics obtained at Georgia Tech University, as well as an MBA degree from the University of California, Irvine, is from a family of audio enthusiasts: his father is Don Leslie, the inventor and producer of the Leslie speaker, described as ‘the sound behind the Hammond B3 organ.’
Mr Leslie’s most recent position was as CEO of Evidant Corporation, a software company that he founded, which specialises in business analytics and management consulting. Previously, Mr Leslie has held positions at Fender, Altec Lansing, Tektronix, and Sun Microsystems.
‘I have always loved JBL for its history, technology, and especially the speakers,’ enthused Mr Leslie. ‘I have known Mark Ureda since I graduated and joined Altec Lansing, and with the team that Mark has put together, we have a tremendous opportunity to develop and bring to market the next generation of JBL greatness,’ he asserted.
