Sennheiser gives world launch to new Neumann monitors

UAE: Visitors to the Sennheiser Sound Academy that ran alongside the recent Dynamic Events conference in Dubai were treated to a world launch of Neumann’s new KH 310 A studio monitors. The first public demonstration of the speakers took place on the day the first units rolled off the production line.
‘It’s great to have the preproduction units here to give our customers in the Middle East a first listen to the new monitors,’ said Mig Cardamone, sales and marketing manager for Sennheiser Middle East. ‘They have only been seen internally before now, so it’s nice to be able to have a world launch in the Middle East. The KH 310 As are the successors to the critically acclaimed K&H O300 monitors, so we’re expecting great things.’
The Sound Academy also acted as a regional launch pad for the manufacturers new Digital 9000 Series wireless microphone system. ‘As well as setting a benchmark for wireless microphones in broadcasting, production and live events, I think the D-9000 opens up options for wireless recording that don’t exist at the moment,’ said Mr Cardamone. ‘In HD mode, using completely uncompressed and lossless audio transmission, you can now record orchestras and instruments that you would never record wirelessly until now. Also broadcasters are very interested in features like the KA9000-COM which is a programmable switch for the bodypacks that can send a separate signal that switches the output to allow communication with the OB van or director, for example, or can be programmed to be a mute, or “cough”, switch. The redesigned capsules for the 9000 Series, which feature a new capsule mounting that acts like a dual elastic suspension, also significantly reduce handling noise. These can be used on G3 and 2000 Series handheld transmitters too.’
The two-day event ran alongside Dynamic Events at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai. ‘We are the audio sponsor of Dynamic Events anyway and we were planning to do a two-day seminar before Cabsat aimed at broadcast, production and events, and Dynamic Events fits perfectly. They invited us to be part of their seminar, and it made great sense,’ explained Mr Cardamone. ‘We’ve had a bit of crossover with other people, we get to network with other guys in the same industry. It’s worked really well. We’ve had great visitors on both days, a lot of the broadcasters came.’
