TURKEY: Istanbul-based SF Ses ve Işık Sistemleri has equipped two of the city’s with new sound and lighting systems. Both venues have benefitted from equipment from Harman and Clay Paky.
The first site is restaurant and lounge bar, Frankie Istanbul. The sound system consists of JBL AC 15, AC 18 and AC 28 speakers, supplemented by Control 25 and Control 26 cabinets with PRX612 enclosures. Low end is courtesy of Vertec VT4881 cabinets. The system is powered by Crown XTi Series amps and processed with BSS Blu. Mics from AKG are put to use on stage, while a Soundcraft Si Compact 24 sits at FOH. The lighting side is taken care of with Clay Paky Sharpy elements.
Following the installation of the new equipment, the venue is reportedly very happy. Frankie owner Kaya Demirer described the venue as now having ‘the best sound in Istanbul’.
A second venue to be equipped by SF is GQ Bar. Speakers are again from JBL, with VPSB7118SP, VRX 932LAP, VRX 918S and PRX 418S all put to use. Added to this are Control SB 21, Control 29 AV, and Control 25 AV cabinets. Processing is via BSS Blu 100 and there is a Soundcraft Si console at FOH. Equipment from AKG in this project includes IVM 4500 in-ear monitoring and wireless mics.
The lighting side of this project includes Clay Paky Alpha Wash 300, Sharpy and Igloo fixtures, controlled from an MA Lighting MA onPC Command wing.
Again, the venue is pleased with the overall result. Chief operations officer Atif Malik described it as having ‘exactly the sound and lighting that I wished for’.
